15th December 2017
On Monday 11th December, the Centre for Gender and Global Health, in partnership with Durex and the GAB on Sexual Health and Wellbeing, hosted an interactive panel discussion around Sexual Pleasure and Human Rights, in conjunction with Human Rights Day 2017 and as part of a global series of events on the #RightToPleasure.
The panel comprised of Abhina Aher, Anne Philpott, Antón Castellanos-Usigli, Penny Pepper, Phoebe McIndoe, Volker Sydow, Eszter Kismödi and Sarah Hawkes, bringing together lawyers, academics, activists and NGO and private sector representatives. Their diverse range of disciplinary backgrounds and perspectives enabled an exploration of positive sexuality and rights in the context of sexual, gender and bodily diversity, age, disability, culture, education, religion and non-discrimination. The panellists and audience offered fascinating, thought-provoking and often witty discussions about how to put pleasure at the forefront of the discussions around sexual health and sexual rights.
