Shivani is a Senior Teaching Fellow with IGH and is the Deputy Director of Education for IGH. She is a political scientist by training and her MA looked at feminist movements in South Asia. Whilst in India on a Canadian International Development grant (formerly CIDA) she became involved with Mumbai NGO SNEHA.
She has worked in IGH since 2010 with a focus on undergraduate medical school education. She runs two Global Health summer programmes as well as teaching on a range of postgraduate modules.
Her primary research interest is in urban health in South Asia. Her doctoral research examines the experiences of female migrants living in Mumbai's informal settlements.
